Help… HEEELP!

Finally I’ve started on my vacation! It’s going to last for two weeks and I’m going to take Meny off my mind and body. I’ve been on the verge of shouting at some rude/unpleasant/impatient customers. Having worked almost every single day for two weeks and having to reason with… less intelligent people has been a chore. I’m actually a very patient and loving person, but there’s a limit to my patience after having worked four (or five?) years with something less giving and having to listen to people that are unable to grasp the fact that I’m just scanning the barcodes and handing out bags, or that our post “office” in the store is about six months old. I won’t break the law just to please some stubborn customers!

Now, that I’ve vented off some steam, here’s a picture that I’ll probably leave unfinished:

Unfinished pirate. Just got messed up!

Unfinished pirate. Just got messed up!

I started by adding a blueish-green background and added some basic shapes of the character with a brown colour. The clothes were originally orangeish-brown, but I wanted them to be blue. Didn’t work to well now did it?! I don’t understand how coloured lighting affects other colours. Another problem is the lack of contrast in the picture. I’ll just leave it unfinished for now.

Sunday. Cruddy Sunday…

“No pictures you say?!

No images of fanciful depictions of colorful monstrosities?

No paintings tainted by your hands?

Lies! You’ve lied to us!

LIES AND SLANDER!!!”

It seems like my side of the sketch-a-day project has gone somewhere warm and unpleasant. This has mostly to do with me going to work almost every single day. When I have days off I spend them with other people or just try to relax. Seems like this week is going to be more of the same, but I will try to make some pictures.

A day will come with pictures a’ plenty! (That’s on Sunday)

I was holding these pictures back because I wanted to post all of the missing pictures at once, but my blog looks empty, so here are some of the new ones:

I started to play around with different shapes and ended up with this confused creature

That was the first of the new ones. I realized that blocking in colors is much is easier to do than making line-drawings digitally.

Ok, Batman (the dark version(especially the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton version)), Hellboy and Wolverine are my favorite comic book characters. PERIOD!
A wizard and his dragon-ish pet. Got bored and didn’t finish it.

Two out of… What? Seven?

This kind of looks like it's in the style of the B.P.R.D.-comics, though it wasn't intentional

Sorry for not posting a sketch a day, but I’m trying to make up for it by making sketches for all those missing days. Reason to why I’ve not created that many sketches is because of a lot of work at Meny, and being exhausted.

I made this while watching "Creepshow" (directed by George A. Romero), a funny horror film from 1982. This is a "loose" sketch of one of the characters.

These two sketches were made veeery quickly. In… I dunno 5 mins each. I can’t seem to adjust to the tablet and I feel I can’t draw for poo anymore. That is one of the reason Aleksander and I are doing this, but still… I strongly dislike to show works I’m not too happy about.

I’m going to make some more after looking at some guitar tablatures and finish downloading the second episode of Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures.

Sketch-a-day!

My interpretation of Guybrush Threepwood disguised as LeChuck

Aleksander suggested we should start making a sketch each and every day from now on, so here’s my first sketch in this project. I can’t update this blog every single day, but will make up for it by creating a sketch for each missing post.

The reasons for me to do this are to get better at drawing, getting more creative and just updating my blog with something.

Sebastian in my class suggested that I should draw Guybrush Threepwood as LeChuck, but I made him a LeChuck disguise instead.
